He wants us to keep voting for him so he can influence the DNC with his delegate numbers to get policy for us. Hopefully he gets big ones bc im tired of living in this cursed country.
In Bernie’s live-stream today he said he couldn’t with good conscious continue given the current tragedy unfolding with COVID-19.
He sacrificed his campaign to help flatten the curve; he saved lives by reducing turnout for further nominee primaries. Look at WI… he fought for mail-in only, and when that didn’t happen, there were long lines at the polling places yesterday amid a pandemic (April 7).
Bernie cares about the people. Period.
Don’t get me wrong—my heart is shattered—but this is an unprecedented time. For instance, I saw Eli Lily announced they dropped the cost of insulin to $35 for the duration of the pandemic. Bernie can now devote his energy to pressuring this as a permanent price alteration. He can work 110% towards raising money for coronavirus relief and other progressive ideals, including future stimulus packages in the Senate.
Bernie is NOT giving up his delegates. Any he earns here on out can help offer progressive ideals leverage.
Would I prefer Bernie as nominee? Of fucking course—no question.
I will be checking his name come the Indiana primaries on my mail-in ballot, as well voting for the delegates tied to him to give him every last delegate he can get to help shape the party’s platform.
