The average Bernie supporter wasn’t the Poindexter white dude bernie bro on Twitter, it was very young, extremely alienated nonwhite people who have little coherent ideology except a comprehension that 1. Their lives and everything around them sucks and 2. That they’re extremely pissed off and angry at the government and the political status quo in general. You can convince the loser Bernie bro dude who tweets nonstop about politics to vote, but you’re not going to convince impoverished people of color whose politics are fueled primarily by anger and alienation to waste their free time voting for a right wing conservative for the singular goal of restoring the very status quo that they despise. That’s where the Democrats are gonna feel the hurt on November.
