y'all can talk about death of the author all you want but that doesn’t change the fact that the author’s racist views are part of the story

Meyers explicitly demonized the Native Quileute characters and had other characters constantly calling them “dogs” and treating them horribly.

that’s not something ppl can or should ignore just bc y'all like other aspects of the series

Like the fact she used the name of an actual Native tribe and turned them into violent stereotypes who are a threat to a white woman, and how she pretty much made Jacob a pedophile by having him imprint on a child. And the way her only black characters were villains.
